App: dottle

1. Summary

dottle does not require an account and does not sell personal information. The app is designed to work offline. We do not operate a server-side analytics or social feed service.

2. Data stored on your devices

• Your drawings and camera-generated dottle artworks, along with their saved metadata and app settings, are stored locally on your device.
• Optional iCloud sync can store dottle data in your private Apple iCloud container so your devices can share it.
• A small local beta analytics file may record app events such as opening a screen or saving a valid doodle. It stays on-device and can be exported only when you choose “Export beta data” in Settings.

3. Camera to Dottle

When you open Camera to Dottle and grant camera access, dottle processes the live camera image on your device to create a 15×15 or 25×25 dot preview. The original camera frames are transient: they are not saved, uploaded, or used for face recognition, advertising, or analytics. When you capture, only the generated dot artwork is saved to your collection, where you can edit it. If optional iCloud sync is enabled, that saved artwork data may sync to your private Apple iCloud container.

4. User-directed sharing

When you explicitly use Messages, the share sheet, photo export, or the Messages extension, the selected image, GIF, sticker, or backup file is sent to the destination you choose. dottle does not send this content automatically.

5. Photos and permissions

dottle requests add-only photo permission only when you save an exported image or animation to Photos. It does not read your existing photo library.

6. Tracking and third parties

dottle contains no advertising SDK, tracking SDK, or third-party account system. Apple services such as iCloud, Messages, and Photos operate under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.

7. Retention and deletion

Local data is removed when you delete the app. You can remove synced data through your Apple iCloud settings. You can delete local beta analytics from Settings by clearing app data or deleting the app; exported copies are controlled by the destination you selected.
